Brian Atkinson, a junior computer science major at Coastal Carolina University, has been selected as one of approximately 90 students nationwide to participate in the 2011-2012 Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) Cyberinfrastructure Student Engagement Program.

Numbers and Bytes Club

Numbers & Bytes First 2011 Invites you to pizza(requires signup)! Event will be on 1/28/2011 at 12:30-1:30. We will have a casual meeting to discuss plans for the Spring 2011 term as well as get feed back from new / returning members. We'll be ordering pizza for the meeting and just having a nice time. Feel free to read more about Numbers & Bytes below.

Numbers & Bytes is a Computer Science Focused Club; We are looking out to the Computer Science student body to join and provide what they feel would be a great experience.  You can see Mrs. Sandy Mishoe at office (room 114 of the Coastal Science Center) for a
signup, at as low as $5 per semester. For people who are interested, feel free to read the wall of text below or email with questions,
concerns or ideas.

Numbers & Bytes is a student organization that focuses on multiple aspects of
the computer science world.

Purpose -The club is organized and will be operated exclusively for educational
and scientific purposes to promote the following:

A.        An increased knowledge of and greater interest in the science,
design, development, construction, languages, management and applications of
modern computing.
B.        Greater interest in computing and its applications.
C.        A means of communications between persons having an interest in

Membership -There are semester dues of $5.00 or $10.00 for the academic year.
Any form of funding, in terms of donation, dues, or fundraises will be used for
the following when applicable:

A.        Refreshments.
B.        Trinkets / Small gifts for guest speakers.
C.        Trips / Conferences.
D.        Ceremonies / Banquets.

Meetings -Will be held at least twice a month, or more frequently if needed.

A.        We are working hard to keep a flexible schedule, to help as many
members attend as possible.
B.        We will have the meetings documented, so people who are unable to
attend can be informed.

Events-At least one A, B or C will take place at once a month, or more
frequently with demand. D and E depend on upcoming events and the clubs
financial ability.
A.        Quest speakers, including Faculty/Staff.
B.        Workshops.
C.        Student sessions.
D.        Local Conferences.
E.        Trips.
